Café

At the museum's reception, you can purchase a selection of refreshments and snacks. We offer a variety of soft drinks, coffee, ice cream, and waffles. Enjoy your refreshments in our charming outdoor seating area. On rainy days, we also have a cozy indoor café area where you can sit back and relax in a historical setting.

Parking

There is ample parking available at the museum, with a large parking lot located just outside. Please note that we share the parking area with Norderhov Church, situated directly across the road from the museum.

Accessibility

Ringerike Museum is located in the historic Norderhov Rectory, with sections dating back to 1635! Unfortunately, this means that large parts of the museum are not wheelchair accessible. However, the ground floor is equipped with portable ramps, and our staff is happy to assist. An accessible restroom (HC toilet) is also available on the ground floor for your convenience.

Children and families

We have a children’s section within the museum with fun activities for children. The characters Idun and Isak guide the children through their adventures. A toy box with outdoor games is also available at the reception for use in our lovely garden.

Note! Most activities are in Norwegian, but we can assist with translations to the best of our abilities.

Norderhov church

This church, dating back to 1170, has a rich history closely tied to Ringerike Museum, located in the old rectory. It remains an active church, hosting services, weddings, christenings, and other activities. During the summer, it is open to visitors on certain weekends.

Guided tours of Norderhov Church can be booked through the museum, but please note that visits may be canceled on short notice due to church activities.

Pilgrim Route
For many, the museum is a natural stop along the Gudbrandsdalsleden. Pilgrims wishing to get Norderhov Church's stamp can do so at both the church and the museum.
