Exibitions

The Laagdal Museum is a museum with a wide scope. For instance, you will find an extensive collection of folk art, an exhibition about the resistance movement during World War II, and the country's only specialized museum for optics.

On the occasion of Kongsberg's 400th anniversary and our own 100th anniversary, we opened the exhibition "Made in Kongsberg!" in 2024.

Did you know that chairs have been produced at the weapons factory in Kongsberg, or did you know that there was an ice cream factory in Kongsberg that produced  "Kongsberg Is" (Kongsberg Ice Cream)?

Come by to experience some of what has been produced in Kongsberg over the past 400 years. The exhibition is based on the Laagdal Museum's own collections.

The exhibition will run throughout 2025.

The optical exhibition consists of, amongst other things, a lens workshop, C. F. Johannesen's optical shop from Oslo, the eyeglass collection after Anders Spiten, and the old eyeglass grinding workshop from Aspit optikk.
