Hallingdal Museum manages seven museum sites in Hallingdal, including Hallingdal Museum Nesbyen, Gol Bygdemuseum, Hemsedal Bygdatun, Ål Bygdamuseum, Dagali Museum, Hol Bygdemuseum, and Dokken Fjellgard (Dokken Mountain Farm). Additionally, we organize guided visits to Hol Old Church in the summer.
Hallingdal Museum Nesbyen serves as the administrative center for the museum. Our museums are open during the summer season or by appointment.
In total, Hallingdal Museum has 124 historical buildings and around 36,000 artifacts from the Hallingdal region, including everyday objects, clothing, textiles, art, and archival materials that reflect our local history from the Middle Ages up to the 20th century. The buildings come from various parts of Hallingdal and tell the story of rural culture and industry throughout the ages.
