"Our stay at the Folk Music Center gave us the opportunity to work intensively on the material for our winter EP “Mørketid” (released in the fall of 2025). It was great to get out of a 50 sqm apartment in the city and into a large countryside villa built in the old Norwegian style, allowing us to fully focus on our work. We also made use of the running track outside in the mornings, and we even got to swim in the river. Prestfoss Café nearby also has very good baked potatoes. We could easily have stayed two more months to get even better acquainted with the archive and enjoy the freedom to create something completely different. We highly recommend the residency and are very grateful for the opportunity we were given."

"After a week of residency at the Buskerud Centre for Traditional Music, I feel completely filled with new inspiration and a slightly expanded knowledge of the rich tradition that Norwegian folk music represents. Not only does this center have a location perfect for retreating into a creative bubble, but with such an extensive archive and various resources on Norwegian folk music, this place is an absolute gem in every way. The time was spent recording songs in the studio, as well as digging deep into the folk music archive that is available. I am very grateful that Even and Åshild offered me the opportunity to come here for a stay – thank you so much! I hope to see you again!"
