Hol Old Church is the oldest church in Hol parish, dating back to 1328, with roots likely extending to the 1200s. The church was used until 1924, when a new church was built in Hagafoss. The church has been rebuilt several times and features a large, timbered nave.
The site also has two log builtings: Tingstugu (built 1812-1815) for congregation use during services, and Prestestugu (1844) built for the priest.
The church is still in use during the summer for services and events, with guided tours provided by Hallingdal Museum. In the summer season you can visit the church with a museum guide, who will give you a tour inside. We can also arrange guided tours for larger groups outside of our opening hours.
