Plan your visit to Fossesholm Manor
Fossesholm Manor’s history can be traced back to the Middle Ages and gained its wealth from the estate’s extensive forests and timber export to Europe. Modernized in the fashionable rococo style by the von Cappelen family in the 1760s, the manor ranks among Norway’s largest and best-preserved 18th century manors. It has been open for visitors as a museum since Eiker Historical Society acquired the property in 1973.
The museum is open during the summer months. Generally, you do not need a ticket to visit the courtyard, shop, café, or art exhibitions. The manor itself is accessible only by admission and guided tours. Unfortunately, we do not currently offer regular guided tours in English, although the guide will normally be able to offer some translation during Norwegian tours.
For groups of 10 or more, we offer pre-booked English tours. For this and other questions, please contact us at fossesholm@buskerudmuseet.no
