The Buskerud museums manage extensive collections of buildings, photographs and cultural and art historical objects. The collection represents the expanse of the artistic and cultural heritage in Buskerud. Each one tells a story about life in Buskerud from the earliest times to the present day. The various departments in the Buskerud Museums are responsible for managing, protecting, restoring, documenting and making the collection available to the public. Most of the collection is kept in storage, and an important task for the museum is to make the collections digitally available, both for the museum's staff and other interested parties.
The collections include:

- 112.000 objects
- 1.5 million photographs
- 11 cultural landscape and 4 garden facilities
